Chelsea on ok Monday night thrashed Tottenham 4-1 in a London chaotic Premier League game which gifted Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson a hat-trick.
The dramatic encounter reduced Spurs to nine men after Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off in the first and second half respectively.
Before then, Dejan Kulusevski’s deflected strike off Levi Colwill gave the hosts an early lead and Son Heung-min had a goal disallowed for offside amid a rampant start.
An utterly crazy half ended with Spurs suffering injuries to key men Micky van de Ven and James Maddison and a brainless challenge by Udogie on Sterling meant the hosts would have to play the final 35 minutes with nine.
There were also several goals disallowed as both sides threw everything at it.
Tottenham were already edging their way into the game even before Romero demonstrated his irresponsibility, but once he and Udogie were off Chelsea knew anything other than victory would have been unthinkable.
Despite playing two men down, Chelsea took their time to break down Spurs but eventually unlocked the defence, with Jackson the beneficiary.
Afterwards, Chelsea moved into the top half of the Premier League table with 15 points.
That was about a week after the Blues lost 0-2 to Brentford.
