Chelsea have reportedly joined the race for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The former Lille man has found his feet in Naples and has enjoyed a stellar start to the 2021-22 season, bagging six goals and one assist from six games in all competitions.
Osimhen only arrived at Napoli last summer and is contracted to the Serie A outfit until the summer of 2025, but his performances have not gone unnoticed from other top European clubs.
Manchester City have been tipped to move for the 22-year-old, and journalist Ciro Venerato claims that Chelsea are also in the race, telling Rai 2: “Osimhen is already worth triple, the Nigerian is liked by Chelsea, Real Madrid, [Paris Saint-Germain] and Manchester City.”
Osimhen endured a stop-start 2020-21 campaign at Napoli due to injuries and coronavirus, but still managed to chalk up 10 goals and three assists from 24 appearances in his debut Serie A season.
The 10-cap Nigerian international has recent experience in netting against Premier League sides, scoring both of Napoli’s goals in their 2-2 Europa League draw with Leicester City two weeks ago.
