Thomas Tuchel’s unbeaten run in charge of Chelsea continued with a 2 – 1 victory over Sheffield United on Sunday at Bramall lane.
Mason Mount put the visitors ahead just before half-time when he picked out the bottom corner from a well-struck pass from Timo Werner. But, United got back into it though, after a mix-up between Rudiger and Mendy meant the defender scored an own goal.
Jorginho handed Chelsea the lead again from the spot after Ramsdale fouled Werner and Sharp had a chance to score a late equaliser, but his overhead kick was saved by Mendy.
Chelsea are now unbeaten in their last four games and move up to fifth in the table, just one point behind Liverpool.
The west London club will now focus on the FA Cup as they face Barnsley in a 5th round tie on Thursday.
Meanwhile, United stay bottom of the table, ending their short winning run, but Wilder will be hoping they can bounce back quickly when they host Bristol City in the FA Cup fifth round.
