Chelsea on Saturday lost their second match of the new Premier League season after falling 0-1 to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
It was new signing Anthony Elanga who scored a rare club goal to register the difference between both sides.
The victory means Forest beat Chelsea at the Bridge for the first time since January 1995.
Chelsea have now lost two games so far this season – first against West Ham before Forest slip.
A second victory from four games lifted Steve Cooper’s visitors to ninth in the table, while Chelsea fell to 11th in the early standings.
Manchester City Perfect Dose
About same time on Saturday, an Erling Haaland hat-trick helped City move back to the Premier League summit and maintain their 100% start to the 2023/24 campaign with a 5-1 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
The Norwegian’s seventh treble in sky blue rounded off a remarkable week for the number nine, whose first of the afternoon saw him become the quickest player to score 40 Premier League goals.
Son Shines For Spurs
Also, Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min scored a hat trick — his first goals of the season — as his side demolished Burnley 5-2 at Turf Moor on Saturday after the visitors had gone behind.
Burnley, still without a point, got a dream start when Lyle Foster finished neatly in the fourth minute.
But Tottenham soon hit their stride and Son levelled in the 16th minute with a dinked finish before Cristian Romero’s rasping shot gave them the lead in first-half stoppage time.
James Maddison made it 3-1 with a delightful curled finish in the 54th minute before Son struck twice in quick succession just past the hour mark to complete an emphatic win that put Tottenham second in the table on 10 points from four games.
Burnley grabbed a late consolation through Josh Brownhill.
In the other matches played simultaneously, Brentford and Bournemouth played out a 2-2 draw, same fashion Sheffield United finished against Everton.
