Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey, has won Rangers Young Player of the Year award.
The defender who made his Super Eagles debut this year, has been a revelation for Rangers, playing 43 games with 4 assists to his name.
After he received the award on Sunday, Bassy said: “It’s just amazing to win this award and all the hard work I have put in over the past year is now recognized.
“It’s been amazing, all credit to my teammates and the manager for trusting and believing in me.
“My teammates push me every day so it’s not just for me but for everyone there working hard with me.
“This is the part of the season where the rewards are given. We are still in the league, Scottish Cup and Europa League, so there is a lot to play for and we are just focused on taking each stage as it comes to get better and be prepared for the challenges ahead.”
The 22-year-old is the second Nigerian to win the award after Joe Aribo won it in 2019/2020 season.
