The Prime Minister of Democratic Republic of Congo, Jean-Michael Sama Lukonde has announced a new Cabinet, completing a government overhaul by President Felix Tshisekedi that strengthens his hold on power.
Prime Minister Lukonde who was appointed in February, named the new 56-member cabinet out of which has only 10 reappointments.
Some of the people who made the list are; Economist, Nicolas Kazadi as Finance Minister, former Civil Society Activist, Antoinette N’Samba Kalambayi as Mining Minister and Retired General Daniel Aselo Okito as Interior Minister, said Tshisekedi’s spokesman Kasongo Mwema.
More than a quarter of the 56-member Cabinet are under 40 years old, Lukonde said after the announcement.
