Justice Okong Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja has revoked the bail of Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, in accordance with the application of the prosecution.
The judge consequently ordered the arrest of Maina’s son noting that he jumped bail alongside his father who is being prosecuted for money laundering.
He granted the prayer of the prosecution that Faisal’s trial should continue in absentia quoting section 352, subsection 4 of the administration of criminal justice acts.
Meanwhile, a member of the house of representatives from Zamfara state Sani Umar Dangaladima who stood as stood as Faisal’s his surety when he was granted bail has been summoned to appear before the court.

The lawmaker is to explain why he should not forfeit the N60m bail bond which he signed to secure Faisal’s release.
Faisal, alongside his dad Abdurasheed Maina was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before the court for money laundering.
He was accused of operating an anonymous account with the United Bank of Africa (UBA) which he allegedly used to launder N58 million, a charge he pleads not guilty to.
