Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez could face an impending fine after allegedly breaching coronavirus protocols.
Ronaldo treated Georgina, who turned 27 on Tuesday, to a surprised birthday trip to another region of Italy and stayed in a closed hotel, according to reports.
Due to the global pandemic, traveling between cities in Italy is prohibited and offenders accrue huge fines as stipulated.
Thus, the 35-year-old faces a potential fine after visiting the orange zone of Courmayeu earlier this week.
Italian rules state: “Travel across regions in Italy is banned until 15 February unless for reasons of work, health or absolute necessity.”
The couple are now reportedly under police investigation, but have not yet been fined for their trip to the luxury ski resort.
Georgina celebrated her birthday a five-star Le Massif hotel while she shared a video of their romantic trip on social media before deleting it.
It did look like they wanted to have fun on a low-key but a fan account uploaded the clip, accompanied with the caption: “On the evening of the 26th, they had a romantic dinner, and on the morning of January 27th, they decided to ride a snowmobile ‘under the snow in the Val Veny area, starting from Zerotta to get towards Checroix…”
“Of course, everything was as incognito as possible for a good rest.”
The love birds have since returned to Turin with further reports claiming the Italian police visited the hotel on Thursday and found it shut.
Juventus defeated Spal 4-0 in the Coppa Italia, on Wednesday but their hit-man was given a rest by manager Andrea Pirlo.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese will return to action on Saturday as Juventus travel to Sampdoria.
