Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped points in the October ranking released by the Federation International Football Association (FIFA).
According to the ranking by FIFA on Thursday October 6, 2022, the Super Eagles dropped from 1504.7 points to 1498.47 points to maintain their fourth position in Africa but dropped a place in the world to rank 32nd.
All top five African teams maintained their position.
The Super Eagles lost to the Desert Foxes of Algeria 2-1 in an international friendly game played in Oran, Algeria last week Tuesday September 27, 2022.
World Cup finalists in 2018, Croatia leapfrogged the Nigerian team with 6.23 points to the 31st position after adding 3.53 points to their previous points.
In beating Ghana and Tunisia in their two friendlies last week, Brazil widened the gap between themselves and their nearest challengers, Belgium (2nd, -), who lost to the Netherlands (8th, -) in the Nations League. Argentina (3rd, -) complete the podium.
Just behind lie reigning world champions France (4th, -), followed by England (5th, -).
The only change in the top 10 saw Italy (6th, plus 1) leapfrog Spain (7th, minus 1), who dropped down a place.
