Barring any change, former Manchester United player Angel Di Maria has expressed his intention to leave the Argentina National team.
This was disclosed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in a tweet on X.
He said Di Maria will leave the Argentina national team next week, after the 2024 Copa America final.
Argentina is scheduled to face Columbia on Sunday in the final cracker
According to Romano, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United winger will sign a one year deal with Benfica.
Di Maria, 36 will stay at Benfica for one more season, as agreement has already been sealed.
However, teammate and current Argentina Captain Lionel Messi is still playing for both country and club at 37.
Messi in an interview Tuesday night after Argentina’s 2-0 win over Canada in the semi-final.
He said, “As I’ve said before, I intend to continue. “I intend to keep living day by day without thinking about what will come in the future or whether I’ll continue or not.
“It’s something I just live each day. I’m 37 years and only God knows when the end will be.”
