World Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic on Sunday night turned it around for his rival Jannik Sinner to lift a seventh historic ATP finals title in Turin, Italy.
Djokovic, 36, put in his A-game to outclass Sinner in 6-3, 6-3 straight sets.
Initial Upset, First Year Defeat For Italian Star
Before the final showdown, the Serbian was beaten by home favourite Sinner in the group stage.
He has set records in rankings and titles this year and played some of his best tennis against the youngsters including Sinner who had his first defeat this year.
Ever Historic Serbian
The 22-year-old is the first Italian to reach the Nitto ATP Finals title match but was denied in his bid to become the youngest year-end champion since Stefanos Tsitsipas (21) in 2019.
Djokovic is now 7-2 in the ATP Finals title round, with trophies in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022 and 2023.
His reward for his latest triumph will be a record-extending 400th week atop the Pepperstone ATP Rankings beginning on Monday.
