German side RB Leipzig have reportedly completed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from Red Bull Salzburg for around €25 million (£22.5m/$30.5m).
The highly-rated Hungarian winger has been on Arsenal’s radar in recent months but Leipzig seem to have leveraged on the their ties with Red Bull Salzburg to put a January agreement in place.
Arsenal’s search for a creative midfielder intensified following the Gunners shortage on goals in the Premier League.
This has led to fans calling for the inclusion of Mesut Ozil in the team. The ex-German international was excluded from Arsenal’s squad for the English Premier League and Europa by Mikel Arteta.
Szcoboszlai has also caught the attention of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid who are said to have been motoring the 20-year-old.
However, Leipzig have reportedly won the race to lure the youngster who would add spice to an attacking pool that already includes Emil Forsberg, Dani Olmo, Christopher Nkunku and Justin Kluivert.
Although, the Gunners were willing to trigger Szoboszlai’s £18.25million release clause as well but had planned to pay it in three separate instalments.
