IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is now talking tough ahead of a scheduled clash against Anthony Joshua.
He is specifically targeting a knockout win over Joshua when they clash at Wembley Stadium on September 20, 2024.
Dubious who is yet to win a full world title in the ring, believes a decisive win against the former unified champion will cement his status as a legitimate force in the heavyweight division.
Despite his title, Dubois remains eager to prove himself, especially against a fighter of Joshua’s calibre.
“I’m the underdog because I have to prove myself, and beating him in this fight will establish me as a legit champion,” Dubois told Sky Sports News.
“I’m raring to go. This is everything—the big opportunity.”
Dubois has not hidden his intentions to secure a stoppage in the highly anticipated bout, saying, “Win by any means necessary, but a stoppage is definitely what I’m after—a good stoppage and a statement victory—that’s what I’m all about.
“I’m very sure and ready to do the business. Every day I’m working towards it, leaving no stone unturned. Just work, work, work, and victory is definite.”
Dubois’ trainer, Don Charles, also expressed confidence in his fighter’s preparation.
“He’s looking good, feeling good, and enjoying his boxing. We’re tweaking every shot in his arsenal, and I’ve got a very happy camp and a very happy fighter,” Charles said.
