Real Madrid fans are reportedly upset with forward Eden Hazard over laughing with his former teammates at Chelsea after they were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday.
Chelsea advanced to their first CL final since 2012 following a 2-0 victory over Los Blancos in the second-leg, securing a 3-1 aggregate score.
The Belgian ace, who joined Real from Chelsea in 2019, failed to impress in either game having experienced a lengthy spell on the sideline through injuries.
Shortly after the final whistle, television cameras showed the Belgian congratulating and laughing with Chelsea players Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy.
The footage which had gone viral on social media, engendered criticisms from Real supporters.
“Someone explain this to me because I do not understand it,” former Real winger Javier Balboa wrote in a Tweet accompanied by angry emojis.
Hazard’s two seasons with the La Liga giants have been marred by injuries since he became the club’s record signing.
Real coach Zinedine Zidane said he had no regrets about picking Hazard and defender Sergio Ramos for the Chelsea game despite the pair only recently returning from injury.
