Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have reportedly sealed a mansion belonging to former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
The mansion which is located at 320 Jide Oki Street in Victoria Island, was sealed with a notice, which reads, “EFCC Keep Off Under Investigation”.
The beautiful duplex was taken over by the EFCC two days ago.
Sources however say the EFCC sealed Ambode’s house over suspicious corruption and embezzlement, adding that the mansion will be locked till investigations are concluded.
TheCable had reported that the EFCC on Tuesday raided the home of the former governor over links to a N9.9bn fraud.
Confirming the development, Tony Orilade, EFCC spokesman, said: “Yes, we received petitions regarding the governor, and we are investigating”.
Recall that a federal high court in Lagos had ordered the freezing of three bank accounts allegedly linked to Ambode.
