On Sunday, Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, announced plans to increase economic and trade cooperation with Bulgaria.
Samir noted this during his meeting with Deyan Katratchev, the Bulgarian ambassador to Egypt, adding that the two countries are witnessing a promising collaboration across diverse sectors.
According to the Egypt’s trade minister, the upcoming visit of the Bulgarian Minister of Economy to Egypt next December will include a delegation of companies to discuss bilateral investment opportunities between both countries.
Throwing light on the upcoming visit, Samir stated that it is expected to hold the Egyptian-Bulgarian Business Council and an Egyptian-Bulgarian business forum, he noted.
Samir added that in November, Egypt will host the third edition of the African Inter-Trade Exhibition, which is expected to include the participation of 75 countries and 1,600 exhibitors representing a distinguished opportunity for Bulgarian investors.
Samir said that investment in the Egyptian market offers various advantages, such as the availability of qualified labour and the country’s preferential trade agreements with numerous countries and economic blocs.
On his part, Deyan Katratchev, the Bulgarian ambassador to Egypt stressed his country’s keenness to develop economic and investment relations with Egypt, one of the most pivotal countries in the Middle East and Africa region.
“Egypt could benefit from the Bulgarian market as a gateway for its products to the European continent, while Bulgarian exports could enter African countries through the Egyptian market,” Katratchev stated.
