Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), has revealed plans to increase services offered by the social media platform by introducing audio and video call features.
Musk shared the plans with his followers on Thursday, informing them that the upcoming audio and video call features would not require a phone number for usage.
According to him, the new features will work seamlessly across Android, iOS, PC, and Mac devices.
However, Musk has not yet disclosed the exact release date for the addition of these features to X.
In his post, Musk stated, “Video and audio calls are coming to X; it works on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC; no phone number needed; X is the effective global address book. That set of factors is unique.”
Musk has been consistently announcing various feature enhancements for the X platform.
Just a few weeks ago, he announced the removal of the ability for users to block accounts on the platform.
It’s worth recalling that Musk implemented limits on the number of posts users can read a couple of months ago.
He stated, “To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
• Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
• Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
• New unverified accounts to 300/day.
