Errol Musk, the father of Elon Musk, has revealed that the billionaire businessman has plans to buy Liverpool FC, a club currently topping the English Premier League (EPL).
However, he expressed concerns that the current owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), could increase the price of the Premier League club.
Speaking to Times Radio, Errol said:
“I can’t comment on that; they’ll raise the price!
“Oh yes, [he has expressed a desire], but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it.
“He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to – so would I.
“His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool. We were fortunate to know quite a few of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know.”
Elon Musk, who already owns Tesla and X, is worth around £340 billion.
He is reportedly keen to invest some of that wealth into the Merseyside outfit.
FSG, which took over from George Gillett and Tom Hicks in 2010, now reportedly values Liverpool at £4.3 billion.
