Senator representing Kwara Central, Ibrahim Oloriegbe has claimed that youths are being used for political purpose in the protest against police extortion, intimidation and extra-judicial killings.
Oloriegbe said this while fielding questions from journalist regarding the ongoing EndSARS protests trailed by violence.
He said, “Youth should not allow themselves to be used for other purposes, which it is turning into now. We have no other country than this place. No life is worth to be loss because of another person’s political ambition.
“What we see happening now, is that they are being used for political purpose, ”he said.
The Senator opined that some politicians who could not win election through the proper way were seeking out devious means to attain power.
Speaking about the follow up demands of the youth which still keeps them on the street, Oloriegbe explained, “there are parts of the demands that are not immediate which are medium to long term so they cannot be on the street for that long.”
The senator went on to plead with the EndSARS protesters to rescind their decision to continue with the protest; noting that the government has heard them and strategic steps have been outlined towards meeting their demands.
