Belgium and Manchester City midfield ace, Kevin De Bruyne has tipped England as favourite to win the Euro 2020 and Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The 29 -year-old who was recently crowned Europe’s best midfielder following a superb performance last season with the citizens, believes that the Three Lions parades an exciting crop of young talents destined for greatness.
Although, England is yet to win a major competition away from home. Thus, all fingers are crossed this time as Gareth Southgate seeks to restore the lost glory.
The Three Lions had came close to reaching the world cup final in 2018 for the first time since 1966 but failed to progress against a stubborn Croatian side that leveraged the expertise of Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic.
Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne believes they stand a chance to win the upcoming major tournaments.
“It is a very young team with a lot of potential and I think they should aim to win the next Euros and World Cup – I think they have that potential.
“I think they should be very excited,” he said.
The Euros which will be hosted in 12 European cities was earlier billed for 2020 but due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 it had been shifted to 2021.
