Anayo Iwuala is a symbol of hard work and dedication, Enyimba Chairman, Felix Anyansi revealed after the Nigerian winger sealed a staggering ₦205m move to Tunisian club side Esperance.
Iwuala signed a three-year deal with the four-time CAF Champions League winners Monday, and he’s expected to earn a salary worth $50,000 monthly.
“Anayo is a symbol of hardwork and dedication. During his time with us, he gave everything, which is why the fans love him so much.
“He is a strong and talented player who has what it takes to succeed anywhere and we wish him well as he takes up his new challenge,” Anyansi-Agwu told the club’s official website.
Iwuala made 57 appearances in Enyimba colours. In the just concluded season, he scored six goals and provided 16 assists as the People’s Elephant finished third in the Nigeria Professional Football League and reached the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Indeed, it’s been a remarkable rise for the 22-year-old, who got his big break this year. Iwuala successfully earned himself four international caps with the Super Eagles following his stellar performance for the Peoples’ Elephant.
