Manchester City on Saturday failed to beat Liverpool in a tight Premier League clash with Liverpool which ended 1-1 at Etihad stadium.
It was an encounter that produced lots of intriguing moments in both halves of the game, with goal machine Erling Haaland and Liverpool man Trent Alexander- Arnold scoring for the sides.
Despite the outcome, City remain top of the table, one point ahead of Liverpool.
The Citizens will host Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League game on Sunday, December 3, 2023, while Liverpool welcome Fulham at Anfield same day.
Blues Fresh Setback
Meanwhile, second-half goals from Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon proved the difference as Newcastle emphatically returned to winning ways in the Premier League against a 10-man Chelsea at St James’ Park.
The win moves Newcastle to within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham, while Chelsea’s fifth league defeat of the season leaves them just inside the top half.
Gunners’ Triumphant Day
The trio of Brighton, Luton town and Bournemouth won their matches.
In the last match of the day, Arsenal through a Kai Havertz goal secured a hard-earned victory over Brentford to send the gunners top of table.
