Bamlack Tessema from Ethiopia has been rated as the best referee of the 2021 AFCON for the way he controlled the West African derby between Senegal and Burkina Faso with outright professionalism, Afrinews reports.
Tessema had a great day in officiating the crunch and cagey encounter between the Stallion of Burkina Faso and the Teranga Lions of Senegal.
The Ethiopia Referee got almost all his decisions spot-on in the semi-final encounter and African fans have commended him for being accurate and ensuring precision.
Tessema is a medical researcher and clinical coordinator at the Addis Ababa University.
He is also a graduate of Sociology from Addis Abeba University.
A leading referee in Ethiopia, he started to referee in 2003 and became an international FIFA Refree in 2009, overseeing Djibouti vs Somalia as his first international match.
He officiated the first semi-final match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations between Burkina Faso and Senegal.
