Former Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has excluded Spurs boss Jose Mourinho from his list of top coaches despite working under the Portuguese tactician during his managerial spell at Chelsea.
The Nigeria international, who is on loan at Spartak Moscow, worked under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge but only managed fewer games between 2013 and 2015, with loan moves to Liverpool and Stoke sanctioned.
The 30-year-old mentioned current Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte as one of the best managers he ever worked under. The duo made a fantastic two seasons together at the West London side – winning the Premier League title and an FA Cup in the latter season.
Moses reunited with his former boss, Conte after his Fernebahce deal was cut short during the 2019-20 season after he signed a six-month loan with Inter Milan.
“Antonio Conte helped me to believe in myself. And that’s purely from a human perspective and not because he found me a new position on the right side of the defence, ” Moses told Spartak’s official website.
He added: “Next Roberto Martinez, Rafael Benitez. Neil Warnock, with whom I made my debut at Crystal Palace. [Domenico] Tedesco. And also Mark Hughes.”
On Mourinho, the former West Ham United star opined: “Without a doubt, Jose is a cool pro, I respect his achievements. But there wasn’t the necessary connection between the player and the coach.
“In the end, I tried in training, I wanted to play, but Mourinho had a different opinion.”
During Conte’s managerial stint, Moses took in 78 appearances, but was soon ushered towards the exit once again when Maurizio Sarri took the reins.
Moses, who called a quit on international duties shortly after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, has only scored once for Spartak Moscow in 11 appearances so far.
