Carlo Ancelotti’s side secured a hard earned victory over Rotherham in the FA Cup third round game played on Saturday.
Turkey international, Cenk Tosun had opened scoring for Everton in the 9th minute before Matthew Olusunde levelled things up for Paul Warne’s side.
During the second half, Tosun almost scored a brace but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review.
It is alleged the striker celebrated the goal with the sign of Turkish far-right group the ‘Grey Wolves’ with his left hand before the goal was disallowed.
However, club officials claimed they spoke to the 29-year-old forward after the match and he claimed he was just ‘celebrating and pointing to the sky’.
But the game did not end there as midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure got an added time winner to send the Toffees straight into the fourth round.
The draw for both the fourth and fifth round will take place on Monday, January 11 ahead of the third round tie between Stockport and West Ham.
