Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has advised the general public to disregard a reported impersonation and posts seeking for their bank account details as the forward claims he has no affiliation with such demands.
The former Leicester City striker urged his followers to look out for his verification badge for the authenticity of any of his posts on social media.
This is coming in the heels of an alleged claim that a shared on Facebook post is coming from him, asking the public to provide their account number (bank) as well as their phone number.
Musa via his verified handle reacted with a post debunking the claims saying such messages should be ignored.
He wrote: “Dear all please ignore any post asking you for your account details or for you to contact someone in my name. “I have no affiliation with such demands.
Always look out for my verification badge on any posts in my name. If it’s not from my official pages, please disregard.”
The recent development comes barely one month after one Gambo Yakubu was arrested by the Kano Police Command for defrauding people of about N700,000 and impersonating the Super Eagles captain.
Dear all, please ignore any post asking you for your account details or for you to contact someone in my name. I have no affiliation with such demands. Always look out for my verification badge on any posts in my name.If it's not from my official pages, please disregard.

The 30-year-old was said to have swindled about 15 people under the guise of helping them secure contracts with football clubs abroad.
Yakubu claimed to have worked with the former Leicester City striker at his Sports Complex in the northern part of the country.
In the wake of his apprehension, forged documents bearing Musa’s name which he used to dupe his victims were found in his possession.
A statement by the police confirmed that Yakubu had sold forms at the rate of N5,000 each to those youngsters who are desperate to play football abroad.
Meanwhile, Musa is still without a club after he terminated his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr In October 2020.
