The latest ranking of teams released on Wednesday, by the world football governing body, FIFA, has seen the Super Eagles drop three places to occupy the 32nd position.
The drop also affected their position as the third ranked side in the continent after being displaced by Algeria.
This announcement is coming at a time the Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr is being criticised over the calibre of players he selected to prosecute the friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia.
Other quotas have also queried his technical abilities, insisting that he lacks the grip in that aspect.
The Eagles had earlier been ranked 29th in the September ranking which was released after a six-month break due to COVID-19.
Super Eagles lost 1-0 to Algeria and played a 1-1 draw with Tunisia in their last fixture.
Senegal remains the highest-ranked team in Africa, dropping one place to 21st in the world while Tunisia is second and 26th respectively.
Russia 2018 semi-finalist, Belgium maintains the first position in the world, while France, Brazil, England and Portugal are ranked second, third, fourth and fifth in that order.
According to Goal.com, The FIFA World Ranking is a points-based system which takes into account all senior (or grade ‘A’) international matches played by national teams over the course of four years.
