A Deputy Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Hillary Kelechi Madu, has finally assumed office as the Acting Commandant General.
The Heritage Times had reported how the former NSCDC boss Abdullahi Gana whose tenure had expired was asked to remain in office pending official communication from the Presidency.
With the development, Madu, who was DCG in charge of Operations, could not take over.
The uncertainty over the NSCDC leadership is now finally over.
Reacting to his confirmation, Hillary Kelechi Madu fsi appreciated the Federal Government and the Honourable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the opportunity given to him to steer the affairs of the Corps in acting capacity
He promised to continue in the execution of the Corps mandate to justify the confidence reposed in him.
The new NSCDC boss also assured the Honourable Minister of his determination to rejig the system and personnel in order to ensure effective service delivery especially in Agro Rangers operations and the Protection of Critical and National Assets.
