Hundreds of fans had gathered to welcome Pep Guardiola’s side ahead of the must-win fixture.
Despite the initial incident, City defeated their opponent 3-1.

Mail Online reported that the fire was swiftly contained after emergency services responded quickly.
Fans were evacuated to a safe distance while firefighters tackled the flames.
A truck from Greater Manchester’s Fire and Rescue Service arrived within minutes to control the situation.
