Spurs’ 11-match unbeaten run in the top flight came to a halt on Wednesday night after Roberto Firmino’s late header took Liverpool to the summit of the Premier League table with a 2 – 1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s side.
Mohamed Salah had put Liverpool ahead in the 26th minutes to take his goal tally for this season to 14 but Son Heung-min equalised for the visitors before half-time to reset the game.
Firmino netted a late winner after he headed home Andy Robertson’s corner in the 90th minute to take Liverpool three points clear of Spurs.
Steven Bergwijn and Sadio Mane came close to scoring for their sides in the second half those attempts struck the woodwork.
The results meant Jurgen Klopp maintains his 100 per cent home record against Mourinho.
