Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has returned to fitness after he suffered a left cheekbone and orbital fracture in Napoli’s Serie A clash against Inter Milan on November 21.
The Nigeria international was initially expected to be out of action for three months, but he resumed training on Wednesday, three weeks after undergoing a successful surgery.
The Napoli hit-man took to social media to thank those who stood by him in the last couple of weeks following the setback.
“Thankful To GOD,I Sincerely Appreciate Those Who Reached Out To Me,God Bless You And Yours No Time To Dwell On Past Transgressions, Looking Forward To The Greater Things Ahead. God Is The Greatest. We Move @sscnapoli,” he tweeted.
Osimhen was spotted wearing a hoodie mask as protection while working with the ball in a picture posted on the club’s social media pages.
News of his return comes as a huge boost for Nigeria’s national team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Cameroon on January 9.
The 22-year-old was Nigeria’s top scorer in the qualifying series and will be key to the Super Eagles chances of winning a fourth continental title.
Osimhen has scored nine goals in 14 appearances across all competitions for the Partenpei so far this season.
