Five exceptional players from the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament (Prosperity Cup) have secured trial invitations from top clubs in Turkey, Malta, and Lithuania
These players were scouted during the 6th edition of the Governor Douye Diri International Scouting Program by a team led by Finland-based scout Hilary Azodo, Turkish scout Hakan Uyanmis and Kelvin Etemike.
The players screened from the Bayelsa selected side; Bayelsa Starlets FA represent
Bayelsa United Feeders Team;
Bayelsa Medical University;
Krusaders FC;
Silina FC; and
Wodu United FC.
The Central Organizing Committee (COC), led by Director General Mr. Ono Akpe, is actively monitoring the players to ensure smooth arrangements for their upcoming trials. The COC expresses gratitude to the Bayelsa Governor and Games Master General, Senator Douye Diri, for his unwavering support given to sports development, which has led to significant progress in the sector.
Foreign and local scouts that participated in the program included UEFA License A Coach Stahl Glenn from Sweden, Goalkeeper Trainer Malinauskas Mindaugas from Lithuania, FK Babrungas Plunjë’s Sport Director Kumza Simas, and Head Coach Petkus Kestutis from Lithuania.
Additional scouts from Turkey, including agent Ozen Ahmet, alongside Nigerian sports consultant Nieketien Peter and Ladan Bosso, coach of Bayelsa United and Nigeria’s U20 male national team, also played key roles in the event.
The players are expected to participate in the trails as a prelude to the January transfer window in Europe.
