A Florida nurse identified as Niviane Petit Phelps, has pled guilty to threatening to kill the Vice President, Kamala Harris.
Ms. Phelps was accused of attempted murder by the US Department of Justice after Special Agent David Ballenger was made aware of the threat towards the Vice President in March.
“The videos (that are of relevance to this investigation) generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others,” the complaint reads.
“Kamala Harris you are going to die. Your days are numbered already,” Phelps said in one video.
Phelps also shared a photo of herself at the gun range while holding a firearm and a target sheet. The Department of Justice said she applied for a concealed weapon permit two days later.
The nurse during her appearance before a Federal District Court, noted that she sent her husband, who was in prison in February, a 30-second video of herself threatening to kill the Vice President.
The 39-year-old nurse who is from Miami-Dade Country, could be heard in the video cursing and claiming to have accepted $53,000 to kill Ms Harris.
It was disclosed that the nurse recorded some of the videos herself, while others were done by her children.
She told the law enforcement officers who handled the case that she doesn’t know what would have happened if they had not come to her house.
The sentencing of the nurse has been fixed for November 19, at 2:00 p.m., before Judge Jose E. Martinez of the United States District, where she faces a possible maximum sentence of five years in prison.
