Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr Simbi Wabote, has affirmed that failure on governance isn’t always on government and leadership, but also on the followership of citizens.
The ES made this assertion over the weekend while giving his key note address at the Africa and the Middle East Senators Summit (Eko 2021 AMESA Summit) themed: “Building Emerging Leaders for Africa and Middle East” in Lagos, Nigeria.
Engr Wabote in his keynote address while speaking on leadership attributes said: “The blame isn’t always on the Government and Leadership, but FOLLOWERSHIP”.
He added that: “Once followership fails, leadership is nothing. Followership is supposed to be demanding. Leadership is multi-layered, with followers making it easier and achievable”.
While concluding that leadership is at all levels, he added that leaders in various communities must harness their potentials to be the change they look forward to.
