Former English Premier League Star and Nigerian International, Brown Ideye, is now making moves to sign for a top club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Rivers United Head Coach, Finidi George, who hinted on the development, said the experienced striker is likely to sign for the Port Harcourt side.
“There is every likelihood that he’ll join us. He wants to give back, that’s the most important thing,” Finidi said.
“He has that hunger, we’ve seen Ahmed Musa, and if he’s willing to do that, I think we’ll welcome him.”
Ideye, earlier this week was spotted in training with the club.
Ideye who featured for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League eight years ago, played in the top leagues in France, Ukraine, Greece and Switzerland.
He is expected to replicate the likes of Nigeria’s Super Eagles stars – Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi who rejoined former NPFL club Kano Pillars after their sojourn in Europe.
