Arsenal’s CEO Vinai Venkatesham has reportedly contacted former Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger over a possible return to the Emirates stadium.
Wenger led Arsenal to three Premier League titles as well as seven FA Cups glory before left the club he had managed for 22 years.
The 71-year-old resigned from his position at the club in 2018 following series of protest by supporters calling for his ouster.
In the wake of his departure, Wenger vowed never to set foot at the Emirates stadium again.
However, Daily Mail revealed that Venkatesham spoke with Wenger about the club’s plan to honour the French man.
Wenger’s departure seemed to have further compounded the woes of not winning a major trophy for over a decade as two different managers have been shown the exit over failure to take Arsenal back to her glory days.
The Gunners lie 15th in the Premier League table under the managerial watch of Mikel Arteta. Although, the Spaniard led Arsenal to FA Cup success in the summer – the first trophy that the North London outfit had won since Wenger’s departure.
