Up to four Nigerian players have been included in the team of the tournament of the just concluded 2023 Women’s WAFU B Championship in Kumasi, Ghana.
This was disclosed by the organisers of the competition.
Nigeria’s women team popularly known as the Falconets won all their matches en route final before losing to host Ghana.
Specifically, the Nigerian team suffered a 3-1 defeat in the final via a penalty shootout to Ghana’s Black Princess.
The complete team of the tournament as released by organisers include four players from Nigeria, six from Ghana and one from Burkina Faso.
The Nigerians in the team are midfielder Esther Onyenezide, Sebastian Flourish, Chinyere Kalu and the tournament’s top scorer Opeyemi Ajakaiye.
Falconets scored 20 goals and conceded once throughout the tournament.
