The absence of two suspects on Monday has stalled the arraignment of former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, at the Federal High Court, Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to reports, the presiding Judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo adjourned the matter until April 19 for the suspects to take their plea, as the case could not commence due to the EFCC’s inability to provide the two suspects for the trial.
At the mention of the case before Justice Ekwo, Counsel to the EFCC, Dr. Hassan Liman, told the court that the 5th and 6th suspect in the matter were yet to be served with the court processes.
It would be recalled that Oduah who is facing a fraud charge alongside eight others, was scheduled to be arraigned in court on February 9.
The anti-corruption agency had charged the lawmaker for misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N5billion during her tenure as Aviation Minister.
Consequently, the arraignment of the Senator who currently represents Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, could not go on as she was yet to be served with the court processes.
