Former French international Patrice Evra is now battling to escape legal action after he was sentenced to a suspended 12-month prison.
This is after the prosecutor found him guilty of abandoning his family for over two years.
Evra was said to have abandoned Sandra Evra and their two kids between May 1, 2021 and September 28, 2023.
Le Parisien’s report captured by BBC indicates that Evra’s sentence was confirmed by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office.
The 43-year-old allegedly owes €969,000 in unpaid alimony.
Though the sentence has been suspended, the former France international has been ordered to pay his wife €4,000 for moral damages and €2,000 for legal costs.
Evra has already filed an appeal.
