After featuring for CSKA Moscow of Russia, Nigerian international Chidera Ejuke has switched to Spanish side Sevilla on a free transfer.
This was confirmed by the club via a statement on their website while revealing that the former Junior international signed a three-year contract.
Part of the statement reads, “Sevilla FC has reached an agreement with the Nigerian footballer Chidera Ejuke to become a new player for the Nervionense team, joining García Pimienta’s squad as a free agent and signing for three seasons, until June 2027.
“Chidera Ejuke (January 2, 1998) was born in Zaria, Nigeria, is 176 centimeters tall, is right-footed and acts mainly as a left winger, and can also do so on the right side and in the last offensive section.
“Ejuke began his European career in Norway, at Valerenga, for whom he signed in 2017 at the age of 19 and where he remained for two seasons, playing 59 games.
“With 15 goals and six assists in the Nordic country, he was signed by the Dutch Heerenveen and in the 19/20 season, he scored 10 goals and six assists in 29 games, drawing the attention of CSKA Moscow , with whom he signed until 2024.
“In the Russian team he scored another 10 goals and eight assists, in addition to his debut in European competition, with five appearances in the UEFA Europa League .
“The last two seasons he has been on loan first at Hertha Berlin, in 22/23 – where he shared a dressing room with Dodi Lukebakio -, with three assists in 21 games, and the second at Belgian Royal Antwerp, where he scored five goals and contributed six assists in 39 games , in addition to having played in the Champions League in four games , being an important member in the Mark van Bommel’s squad.
“Ejuke is an international with Nigeria national team, with which he debuted in 2020 after going through the youth ranks and with which he has participated in eight matches ; four qualifying for the World Cup, two for the African Cup, one friendly and another for qualifying for the AFCON.”
