The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have won the 2022 U17 WAFU B champions after a 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso in Ghana on Friday.
Abdullahi Idris put Nigeria in front in the 23rd minute before Burkina Faso equalised before half-time.
Idris put Nigeria back in front after in the second half after he capitalised on Burkina Faso goalkeeper terrible mistake.
The Nduka Ugbade’s boys won all their four games in the tournament, scoring 12 goals and conceding five.
Like the Flying Eagles, the Golden Eaglets are champions of the WAFU Zone B tournament.
The win against Burkina Faso was the coach Nduka Ugbade-led side’s fourth consecutive win at the competition
In the third place match played earlier on Friday, host country Ghana beat Côte d’Ivoire 3-2.
Meanwhile, both Nigeria and Burkina Faso have already qualified for the Africa U17 Nations cup, which will be hosted by Algeria in March next year.
