Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that it will introduce the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the 2025/2026 league season.
The competition and training department of the World soccer governing body has been in Ghana in the past few days organising training for officials on how to use the VAR.
The West Africa’s football body further said this year’s FA Cup will be used as a pilot test.
Meanwhile, Nigerian football legend Nwankwo Kanu has expressed his desire to see his club, Enyimba FC, compete in friendly matches against Premier League giants Arsenal within the next few years.
Kanu, a former Arsenal star known for his significant contributions during his time with the Gunners, shared this ambitious vision during an interview with a radio station.
Kanu is celebrated as one of the club’s greatest players, having contributed to their success from 1999 to 2004.
Kanu’s illustrious career includes winning two Premier League titles with Arsenal and being part of the legendary ‘Invincibles’ squad that went unbeaten in the 2003-04 season.
He is revered not only for his skill and creativity on the pitch, but also for his leadership and philanthropic efforts off it.
