Worried about the falling standards of education in the Ghana’s New Juaben South Municipality, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Michael Baafi has offered to give various incentives to candidates who will excel in the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Baafi who doubles as the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency, said he is offering an iPhone and a laptop to candidates who excel in the exams.
According to him, the strategy, he believes would motivate the students to achieve higher heights.
His concern for the falling standard of education prompted him to organize intensive classes and seminars for BECE candidates in the New Juaben South Constituency to help candidates prepare, write and pass the final examinations.
“The extra classes and seminar is bringing together the finest examiners, teachers, and well-accomplished resource personnel to walk the candidates through six subjects and prepare them for the BECE exams,” he said.
Some of the students who participated in the opening ceremony were determined to score an aggregate 6 in this year’s examinations with the aim of getting the iPhone and laptop.
