A former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has died at the age of 84 years.
His death was confirmed by his political associate and former senator, Shehu Sani.
“May Allah forgive his souls and grant him Aljanna firdausi. Amin,” Mr Sani wrote on Twitter.

The Second Republic governor who died in the early hours of Wednesday was elected as governor of Kaduna State on the platform of the Malam Aminu Kano led People’s Redemption party in 1979.
He was eventually impeached by a predominantly National Party of Nigeria dominated Kaduna state House of Assembly in 1982, after an intractable dispute.
Late Musa is well known as a staunch progressive who worked with people of like minds to mobilise against the military junta of late Sani Abacha.
Until his death, the late Musa was vocal on the need for the political and economic restructuring of Nigeria, stressing that it is necessary for progress.
