Grammy award-winning sensations, Burna Boy and Wizkid have announced the release of visuals for for ‘Ballon D’Or’, their collaborative single.
The music stars announced the release of the visuals via their individual social media pages on Friday evening.
Shot in Lagos, the visuals captured the chemistry and fluidity between two of the most successful African artistes who snagged their first-ever Grammy award each at the 63rd edition of the annual event in 2021.
The feel-good video starts with Burna Boy and Wizkid on a boat cruise, savouring the serenity of the cool atmosphere at a beach in the company of several ladies.
Both singers also croon about their heroics in the music industry — a concept they depicted by the ‘Ballon D’Or’ award which is a prestigious trophy given to the best male footballer in the world.
Interestingly, legendary welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman made an impressive cameo in the visuals.
It is worthwhile to note that the project comes on the heels of their collaboration on ‘Ginger’, a track off ‘Made in Lagos‘, Wizkid’s 2020 hit album.
Both singers have established themselves as household names in the global music industry with strings of hit projects, awards, and recognition.
Burna Boy started to gain popularity in 2012 after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).
He continued his impressive run with the release of his fourth studio album ‘African Giant’ in July 2019. The project would later win ‘Album of the Year’ at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
Wizkid, on the other hand, has taken the global music industry by storm since last year with the success of his ‘Made in Lagos’ album.
