Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that his side endured a difficult game in their frustrating 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday.
The Premier League leaders missed an opportunity to open up a six-point gap at the summit of the table as they were held by Patrick Vieira’s Eagles.
Guardiola’s men found themselves frequently frustrated throughout as they failed to notch a single shot on target in the second half while playing the full 90 minutes without a substitute.
However, the Spaniard, who blamed the draw on the condition of the turf at Selhurst Park, insisted he had no regrets about his team selection and tactics.
“There are still many games to play, we have to win a lot of games but the way we played, there’s no regrets about the team,” Guardiola told Sky Sports.
“We would have preferred to win of course but the game was well played.
“We played to win the game, we created more, the way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect.”
“We play a really good game,” he added. “In 90 minutes, we concede mistakes a little bit, but the way we played was really good”.
Although, City have stretched their lead at the top of the league to four points now, they have played one more game than rivals Liverpool, with the pair still to meet this season.
