Baring any change in plan, serial boxing champion Tyson Fury, will engage would-be challenger in a an undisputed World Heavyweight fight at Wembley Stadium in London on April 29.
According to Dailymail, Fury is already courting rival title holder Oleksandr Usyk to agree the London date, after oil-rich bidders Saudi Arabia are unable to confirm that construction of their new stadium in Jeddah can be completed in time.
The Gypsy King’s preference for the venue has always been Wembley, for his British fans even though, richer mega-millions purses for both fighters are on offer in the Saudi Kingdom, where Anthony Joshua lost to Usyk for a second time.
Both camps are aware that the chance to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, is in danger of being lost if there is further delay to a fight first scheduled for February.
However, there are indications that if agreement with Usyk cannot be reached, Fury would be likely to fight there on April 29 against a designated challenger.
Joshua’s showdown with an American opponent Franklan has been scheduled for April 1, 2023 in London.
