Borussia Monchengladbach suffered a 2 – 0 defeat against Real Madrid on Wednesday night in their final Champions League Group B game at the Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema scored both goals which gave the Los Blancos the desired victory to put them at the top of their group.
However, a drama occurred at the Bernabeu after the final whistle was blown by the referee as players of Monchengladbach rushed to the touchline to watch the final moment of the second game between Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Monchengladbach wanted to avoid defeat against Real Madrid, but they were unable to get that and players were however anxious to see the result of the other game.
Luckily for the German side, Inter Milan were unable to beat their visitors as the match ended in a draw and Antonio Conte and his men crashed out of the Champions League.

Shakhtar finished in third place to secure a spot in the Europa League round of 32 with Antonio Conte’s Inter finishing bottom of the group.
Antonio Conte and his wards will now have full concentration on the Italian Serie A since they have crashed out of Europe
