World record holder in women’s hurdles, Tobi Amusan will on Tuesday June 27, 2023, make a comeback when Golden Spike meet takes centre stage in Ostrava.
Facing world’s finest hurdlers at two prestigious events, Amusan, a Nigerian sprint star will also battle hard in Lausanne where Diamond League will happen on Friday June 30.
Tough Opponents, So Much Expectations
On Tuesday, Amusan will engage reigning Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, former world champion Nia Ali, and the sensational US athlete Tia Jones.
At the Diamond League, she will embark be in a lineup featuring Camacho-Quinn, Ali, Jones, and the impressive Alaysha Johnson, who has been one of the standout performers this season.
The competition will be fierce, with each athlete determined to claim victory and etch their name in the annals of track and field history.
2023 Initail Season Performance
Amusan, the reigning world champion in the hurdles event, aims to build on her recent success at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica, where she showcased her dominance by triumphing in a convincing Season’s Best time of 12.57 seconds.
This victory provided her with a surge of confidence and a strong foundation for her upcoming challenges.
With focus on bouncing back, Amusan will hope to use the two upcoming competitions to regain her top form in preparation for the defense of her world title in Budapest come August.
