Nigeria has registered another victory in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) U19 Cricket World Cup, Africa qualifier taking place in Abuja.
The second consecutive victory was made possible after Nigeran cricket team defeated Botswana.
Afterwards, the victorious team handlers were excited about their boys’ performance.
Talikg about the match, Nigeria won the toss but elected to bowl first.
The Nigerian team made Botswana batting suffer a setback, thanks to their fierce bowling force.
Elochukwu Ndubudem and Ridwan Kareem made three dismissals each while Prosper Useni and Gafar Kareem also took two wickets each.
Botswana could only afford 56 runs all out in 24.2 overs.
Captain, Karabo Makwatse gave his country 14 runs between he was caught by Paul Pam.
Nigeria in the second inning set out Paul Pam and Selim Salau again to start the batting for the targeted 57 runs.
The duo like in the first match against Rwanda finished in style to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence. Salau scored 21 runs off 35 balls while Paul Pam made 27 runs from 33 balls.
Pam finished Nigeria’s batting innings in grand style as he converted a ‘No ball’ infringement to maximum ‘Six runs’ to bring Nigeria’s total to 58 runs.
Nigeria’s Elochukwu Ndubudem won the Man of the Match award.
Another sweet victory it was for the teenage Nigerian cricketers as they sit comfortably in the group’s top position.
Nigeria’s next match is scheduled for Tuesday October 4, 2022 against West African neighbour, Sierra Leone.
